Back Lift
This movement addresses all the muscles in the back of the body that contract in response to activity and ongoing stress.
A. Lie on your stomach and place your right cheek down on the back of your left hand with your right arm resting lengthwise alongside your body. Get comfortable, and make sure that your left shoulder is relaxed.
B. Leave your left elbow on the floor and slowly lift your upper body. Sense how far down your back you can feel the contraction. This movement resembles what a baby does when she looks around for the first time, at around five months of age. It’s called the Landau Reflex. Your abdominals should be soft as your back contracts to bring you up. Repeat this several times, slowly.
